Last month, a client WhatsApped us: “Where was your July newsletter?” We replied, "It was July, even newsletters need a summer holiday!" 😄
But here we are, deep into August, wondering how it’s flown by. The days have been long (although sadly shortening), we've had four, yes four, heat waves, and we’ve been busy onboarding new clients and helping existing ones ease their admin load, with batch payments especially popular.
And how are you keeping cool? Did you know drinking tea can actually help lower body temperature? (Though not effective in humid conditions!) That’s your unexpected science fact for today. Speaking of tea, some of our clients have been making a swirl in the tea world, but more on that later.
WELCOME TO THE TEAM – SWATHI
We’re thrilled to welcome Swathi Bollineni (pictured above left) to our operational finance team! Swathi joins Mo and Faheem in transforming invoice and transactional data into meaningful outputs, from management reports and cashflow forecasts to Innovate UK reporting (we’ll be sharing more on this in a future blog). Outside work, Swathi enjoys cooking and family time with her husband and two sons, as well as doing yoga.
UK LIMITED COMPANIES – DIRECTOR & PSC IDENTIFICATION
If you’re a UK company director or Person of Significant Control, Companies House now requires ID checks. We’ve emailed all clients we believe are affected (check your inbox from 11 June 2025). The official deadline is now 18 November 2025, which is when identity verification becomes mandatory for directors, PSCs, and anyone filing on behalf of a company. We’re working with everyone to get this sorted well before then.

APRON CARD – WHAT’S NEW?
Apron is the tool we use for our bookkeeping clients and for managing batch payments to our clients' suppliers and employees. Apron asked us to trial their employee Apron Charge Cards during the BETA process, and it has some great functionality:

Works beautifully for creative businesses and those with delegated purchase responsibility.
