THE SADLER LEDGER: JUNE EDITION – PRIDE, PEOPLE AND PLANNING AHEAD

It is with pride that I share our latest client newsletter for June.
Pride Month is a time of visibility, celebration, and recognition for LGBTQI+ communities across the globe. While Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and International Women’s Day are all just that – a day – Pride gets the full month treatment. And rightly so.
To mark the occasion, we gave our Sadler Advisory logo a splash of colour. Let us know what you think over on LinkedIn.
But beyond the flag-waving, we also take this time each year to reflect on our team – who they are, what makes them unique, and why that matters. Our business is only as good as the people in it.
WELCOMING SWATHI AND CELEBRATING DANIEL
This month, we welcomed our seventh team member, Swathi Bollineni, to Sadler Advisory. You’ll hear more from Swathi in our next edition, but we’re thrilled to have her on board.
We also had a wonderful reason to celebrate: Daniel Cowburn, a much-valued member of our team, married his partner Caitlin on in early June.

A GENTLE NUDGE TO ENJOY SUMMER
The days are long. The weather’s (mostly) good. So don’t forget to log off a little earlier one evening and take a stroll by the river or through your local park. Come December, you’ll be glad you did.
MAKING TAX DIGITAL FOR INCOME TAX – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
You may have seen more mentions recently of Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, or MTD IT. This is the government’s plan to introduce quarterly digital reporting for certain self-employed people and landlords.
Key dates:
From April 2026: Applies to those with gross sales over £50,000
From April 2027: For those with gross sales over £30,000
From April 2028: For those with gross sales over £20,000
If you’re in scope and a Sadler Advisory client, then don’t worry – we’ll be in touch with specific guidance. And if you have friends or family who might be affected, feel free to refer them to us.
DIRECTOR ID CHECKS – COMPANIES HOUSE REQUIREMENTS
If you’re a UK company director or a Person of Significant Control (PSC), you’ll soon be required to have your identity verified by Companies House.
The deadline is a vague “Autumn 2025”, but we’re aiming to get ahead of it.
TAX PLANNING FOR HIGH-EARNING COUPLES
Are you and your partner earning over £100,000 each?
You could be in the “60% tax trap” – where income between £100,000 and £125,140 is effectively taxed at 60%. On top of that, you could be missing out on valuable childcare benefits like Tax-Free Childcare or 30 Hours Free Childcare.
We recently helped a couple in this situation reduce their tax burden through pension planning, which also reinstated their eligibility for childcare schemes.
Think this might apply to you? Read our blog for more insights or get in touch for a personalised assessment.
SELF ASSESSMENT – IT PAYS TO PLAN EARLY
January might feel like a long way off, but when it comes to Self Assessment, the earlier you start, the better. We’ve written two short blogs to help:
Self Assessment – Who Needs To Submit?: Wondering if you’re required to file? This will help.
Why it Pays to File Early: The hidden benefits of beating the rush – from financial clarity to stress-free evenings.
