Corporation Tax Return Services for UK Limited Companies

Why Choose Sadler Advisory?

Our small business accountants hold a range of professional qualifications, including degrees and memberships with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW). This combination of academic and professional training means your company's affairs are handled by accountants who understand both the technical detail and the practical realities of running a small business.

We are here to complete your annual statutory financial accounts efficiently, but also accurately and with due care. Every set of accounts we prepare is reviewed thoroughly before submission, so you can have confidence that the figures filed with HMRC and Companies House are a true and fair reflection of your company's position.

Understand your Corporation tax position

The sooner we can complete your annual statutory financial statements, the sooner you can understand what corporation tax is due and when. Knowing your liability well in advance of the payment deadline gives you time to plan, set funds aside, and avoid any last-minute pressure on cash flow.

We also take the time to explain the figures with you in plain English. Rather than simply handing over a tax bill, we walk you through how the liability has been calculated, what reliefs and allowances have been applied, and what you can expect for the year ahead.

This forward view is particularly valuable for directors who want to make informed decisions about dividends, salary, pension contributions, and reinvestment in the business.

What is required annually?

When trading, a Limited Company must file a corporation tax return (form CT600) with HMRC every year. The period of reference will align with your company's annual statutory financial statements, and the return must be submitted within twelve months of the end of the accounting period. Corporation tax itself is payable nine months and one day after the year end, so the payment deadline often arrives before the filing deadline.

A company's financial year is not the same as the personal income tax year in the UK. The company's financial year-end will typically be the end of the month in which you incorporate the company, although this can be changed if it suits your business. Alongside the CT600, your company will also need to prepare statutory accounts for Companies House and, where relevant, supporting tax computations and disclosures.

What's Included in Our Service

Our corporation tax service is designed to take the full compliance burden off your hands. We prepare your statutory financial statements in line with FRS 102 or FRS 105, calculate your corporation tax liability, prepare and submit your CT600 to HMRC, and file your accounts with Companies House. We also identify any reliefs that may apply to your business, such as research and development tax credits, capital allowances on qualifying assets, and loss relief where appropriate.

Beyond compliance, we view your year-end as an opportunity for a wider conversation about the business. We will flag anything that stands out in the numbers, suggest improvements for the year ahead, and make sure you are aware of any changes in tax legislation that could affect you.

All our clients use cloud-based accounting software. When we onboard new clients, we support them when needed to transition to digital, paper-less accounting. Cloud-based accounting means all records and results of your business are stored digitally and accessible by you and by us.

This removes the pain of the year-end process, and we use cloud-based software to file your annual statutory financial accounts with Companies House.

If you would like to discuss your corporation tax requirements with a qualified accountant, we would be glad to hear from you.
